Annual General Meeting

September 14, 2022 - Taghum Community Hall

The Bonnington Improvement District Annual General Meeting will be held on September 14^th, 2022 at the Taghum Community Hall. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM. As Covid restrictions didn’t allow for public gatherings in 2020 and 2021, the Trustees agreed to make no changes until we could meet in a public forum. The Trustees also decided not to implement billing increases for 2023 and are extending the current payment deadline to November 30^th, 2022. We have been carrying receivables in excess of what we should, so all money owed the Improvement District will need to be paid in full by November 30^th, 2022. Any outstanding Toll debt at that time will result in water being shut off. Outstanding taxes that are owed will be collected as per Provincial guidelines.

The amount of daily water allocation is being increased to three cubic meters a day starting January 1^st, 2023. This is a reflection of the cooperation shown by the community since the implementation of our meter program. The metering program has been really successful, although we received a number of meters that have not worked on our network, a problem we are trying to resolve.

The infiltration gallery for the District has been rebuilt each year with no interruption of services. Hydrants have been rebuilt and tested each year meeting the Insurance Underwriters requirements for certification. We have had no failures with our weekly IHA lab tests as to water quality. We are working towards a second water source for emergency water by drilling a deep well and may have more to report on this at the AGM.
